Welcome to the Sugar Craft shop where we hope you will find all you need to decorate your cakes.
My name is Micky (Michaela) Hodges and I have been in the Sugarcraft trade for 25 years. I trained at Cheltenham College, which I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed. Let’s just say after not enjoying school, college was like a breath of fresh air for me. I made some wonderful friends and still keep in touch with some of them. As the years went by my knowledge expanded with the demand for various different types of cake design and Sugarcraft equipment. With an open mind for learning and interest for all things new that come onto the market I expanded my knowledge in the Sugarcraft industry too. I enjoy what I do and like many people I have my favourite areas of interest.
I love unusual cake designs, especially for Weddings. I like fun cakes for birthdays and the more dramatic but simple designs for Anniversaries and other occasions. Most of all I get satisfaction from pleasing customers with cakes that get that ‘wow’ factor thrown in.
Our shop, the Bread Basket in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire has just had a major face-lift and runs as a small bakery style shop which sells to the lunchtime trade with Sugarcraft and celebration cakes running well along side it.
You can buy almost anything you need to make special cakes in our online shop or call in and see us. And if you’ve got any problems with Sugarcraft related issues we’ll be only too willing to help you out - we’ve got years of experience so we’ve probably had the same problems at some time.
Joining me now in the business is my husband, Andy who is leaving an engineering background to do something completely different. He is a very adaptable person (and looks great in a pinny!) and very much looking forward to the challenge. Our daughter Cheryl is also coming on board - she already has some retail experience which will stand her in good stead for our shop and website.
